THE SOUND OF NOW
Charmaine Lee is a New York-based vocalist. Her music is predominantly improvised, favoring a uniquely personal approach to vocal expression concerned with spontaneity, playfulness, and risk-taking. Beyond extended vocal technique, Charmaine uses amplification, electroacoustic feedback, and microphones to augment and distort the voice. She has performed with leading improvisers Nate Wooley, id m theft able, and Joe Morris, and maintains ongoing collaborations with contemporaries Lester St. Louis, Conrad Tao, Zach Rowden, and Leila Bordreuil. She is currently an Artist in Residence at ISSUE Project Room (2019). As a composer, Charmaine has been commissioned by the Wet Ink Ensemble (2018), and Spektral Quartet (2018).

CSS064: ROSA ANSCHÜTZ DJ SET
Rosa Anschütz is a transmedia artist, composer and vocalist based between Vienna and Berlin. In her music she is using various electronics and instruments digital and analogue. Her Debut EP “Rigid” is out now on Quiet Love Records. Rigid is a personal EP. It’s a patchwork made of daily notes, dreams, nightmares and loose ruminations on life – stitched together with analog synths and thick, cavernous reverbs. It’s also a great example of the type of music that humanises the sounds of machines, in many ways harking back to the beginning of electronica, although nothing outside of the actual feel is vintage here. The production is warm, fleshy, with carefully sculpted spaces. The vocals are mesmeric, oscillating between spoken word, singing and "voice as strings".

WE ARE DEDICATED — DRIVING WHAT’S NEXT.
Cultivated Sound has been throwing parties in Brooklyn since 2015. Our roots in techno were our foundation as we focused on forward-thinking club experiences that linked music, fashion, art, and video. We revealed new perspectives on established artists & those breaking through to promote a unique vision of what dance music and club culture can be. Cultivated Sound existed to inspire audiences and build towards the shared flourishing of the music scene at home and abroad.
